Autumn Open day Saturday 20th September 1-6pm
Diwrnod Agored yr Hydref Dydd Sadwrn 20fed Medi 1-6yp
Below is the schedule for the afternoon. There will be talks, demonstrations, crafts, a volunteer information tent (see poster below) and two tours of the garden. We will try and stick to times but these may vary.

Craft tent
- 1pm – 2.30pm Whittling with Claire
- 2.30- 4.30pm Paper Windmills with Lia

- 1.15pm Jade and the copper boiler (in her own tent till 1.45)
- 2pm Jams, chutneys, fruit leathers, with Raphaelle for ½ hour plus time for Q&A

Whittling Workshop 1 – 2.30pm
Whittling is one of the craft options available on the Open day. An option for young or old is to whittle a simple butter knife (spread knife) this starts at 1pm and is suitable for people aged 6 years upwards.
Gweithdy Naddu
Mae naddu yn un o’r opsiynau crefft sydd ar gael ar y Diwrnod Agored. Dewis i bobl ifanc neu hen yw naddu cyllell fenyn syml (cyllell ledaenu) mae hyn yn dechrau am 1pm ac mae’n addas ar gyfer pobl 6 oed a hŷn.
Aromatic Water demonstration 1.15 – 1.45pm
Jade Mellor will use a copper still to create aromatic water during the afternoon. Jade will explain the process at the beginning of the session. It takes half an hour to fire up and then a couple of hours to drip through. People can drop into the tent/area to watch this process, which can produce both aromatic water and essential oils. At the end of the day or when the brew has finished, people can bring clean bottles to take some water home.
Arddangosiad Dŵr Aromatig
Bydd Jade Mellor yn defnyddio distyll copr i greu dŵr aromatig yn ystod y dydd. Bydd Jade yn esbonio’r broses ar ddechrau’r dydd. Mae’n cymryd hanner awr i danio ac yna cwpl o oriau i ddiferu drwyddo. Gall pobl alw heibio i’r babell/ardal i wylio’r broses hon, a all gynhyrchu dŵr aromatig ac olewau hanfodol. Ar ddiwedd y dydd neu pan fydd y brag wedi gorffen, gall pobl ddod â photeli glân i fynd â rhywfaint o ddŵr adref.
Corn dolly Workshop- Cancelled – Windmills of Paper with Lia Instead 2.30 – 4.30pm
Animation Screening – 5.30pm
We have an exciting addition to the day from Ceredigion Animation Club. They will be showing a short animation called Wild Words which is 9 minutes long. Rhowan will be setting up the ‘off-grid cinema’ in the Roundhouse at around 5.30pm on our Open Day.
If there is time, they can show another short film from their collection.
Dangosiad Animeiddio
Mae gennym ychwanegiad cyffrous i’r diwrnod gan Glwb Animeiddio Ceredigion. Byddant yn dangos animeiddiad byr o’r enw Geiriau Gwyllt sy’n 9 munud o hyd. Bydd Rhowan yn sefydlu’r ‘sinema oddi ar y grid’ yn y Tŷ Crwn tua 5.30pm ar ein Diwrnod Agored. Os oes amser, gallant ddangos ffilm fer arall o’u casgliad.
