On one Tuesday we had 3 children playing and weeding and 3 visitors from Nottingham who came especially to see the forest garden: they are all involved in different community gardens! - Volunteer Day & Elderflower Day – May 17Saturday May 17th, volunteer day from 10am- 4pm 2-4pm you can come and watch a demonstration of how to make elderflower fizzy drink. We will also talk about elderflower medicinal properties and learning about how this incredible plant can help us when we are unwell. We will also run a creative activity to connect with gratitude, wishes and love. Tea, coffee and cake will be available for a donation. Come and join in all or any of the activities on offer. If you want to come and work in the garden there are always plenty of gardening jobs to be done and support available from one of our volunteer coordinators. Dydd Sadwrn 17 Mai, diwrnod gwirfoddolwyr o 10am-4pm. I 2-4pm gallwch ddod i wylio arddangosiad o sut i wneud diod pefriog blodau Ysgaw. - Pruning course with Martin HayesJanuary 18th – Start at 10.30am We will finish when all the trees at Naturewise have been pruned.Lunch time 12.30/1pm bring your own lunchTea , coffee and cake provided. Free for volunteers of Naturewise; otherwise a donation of £20.00 is requested. Martin Hayes is a distinguished teacher and has immense experience overmany years. A must short course for anyone longing to know how to prune.You will learn the kinds of shape you are helping the tree to create,and this will help you understand the pruning methods. - BLOG: October Ysgol Gynradd Aberteifi visit to the Naturewise Community Forest Garden – Ysgol Gynradd Aberteifi yn ymweld â Gardd Goedwig Gymunedol Naturewise yn ystod mis Hydref.Whole classes of children aged between 7-9 years spent two hours at the garden over 4 sessions. The themes the school were interested to explore were MedicinalPlants and From the Soil to the Plate. All the children and teachers got a tour of the site, and they also had to answer questions and find certain trees and plants in the garden. Questions included: name all the edible plants you saw, where are the vines, almonds, tayberry, persimmon and Japanese wineberry?
