Some of the work and tasks happening in the Forest Garden – Rhai o’r gwaith a thasgau sy’n digwydd yn yr Ardd Goedwig

We planted large blackcurrants that we grew from cuttings perhaps 3 years ago. These have gone in the vine area, which will benefit from this additional layer of planting. This area has been somewhat neglected through a lack of time. But from the pond boundary down the slope, towards the vines, now looks cared for. It also feels good to plant our own baby cuttings.   We have also successfully grown, loads of red current babies too and these can go into this area next. Jenny, Claire and Caroline planted the blackcurrants. A new volunteer Marianne learnt to scythe and together we made a lot of head way clearing around the tayberries with help from Kate. Now the area near the grape vines is looking really good, looked after, with the Chilean Guavas and Chaste trees, doing well.

Plannon ni cyrens duon mawr a dyfwyd gennym ni o doriadau efallai 3 mlynedd yn ôl. Mae’r rhain wedi mynd i’r ardal winwydd, a fydd yn elwa o’r haen ychwanegol hon o blannu. Mae’r ardal hon wedi’i hesgeuluso i ryw raddau oherwydd diffyg amser. Ond o ffin y pwll i lawr y llethr, tuag at y gwinwydd, mae bellach yn edrych fel pe bai wedi’i gofalu amdano. Mae hefyd yn teimlo’n dda plannu ein toriadau bach ein hunain. Rydym hefyd wedi tyfu llwythi o goed bach currens cochion hefyd a gall y rhain fynd i’r ardal hon nesaf. Plannodd Jenny, Claire a Caroline y cyrens duon. Dysgodd gwirfoddolwr newydd Marianne i bladuro a gyda’n gilydd fe wnaethon ni lawer o waith clirio o amgylch y llus tay gyda chymorth Kate. Nawr mae’r ardal ger y gwinwydd yn edrych yn dda iawn, wedi’i gofalu amdano, gyda’r Coed Chaste a’r Gwafa Chiliaidd yn ffynnu’n dda.

Oh so happy with the pond area in Cae Isaf, our 2nd field. The flowers are looking great, the pond area is beautiful. We transformed this very quickly really. Well done to us. Everyone has contributed to this area and in this picture Lia and her daughter Jo are planting and Dawn is watering a red-hot poker – another free plant curtsey of her neighbour.

Dave covering the potato plot – mulching to suppress the weeds and add fibre to the soil. By next year should be a nice bed for something else. The New Zealand flax is doing well, these were a free bee from Katerina. They should grow into quite a hedge / barrier giving us a diversion from looking at the plastic covered manure.

Dave yn gorchuddio’r plot tatws – tomwelltu i atal y chwyn ac ychwanegu ffibr at y pridd. Erbyn y flwyddyn nesaf dylai fod gwely braf ar gyfer rhywbeth arall. Mae llin Seland Newydd yn ffynnu, roedd y rhain yn rhodd gan Katerina. Dylent dyfu’n wrych / rhwystr eithaf da gan roi cyfle i ni osgoi edrych ar y tail wedi’i orchuddio â phlastig.

Jenny tended to the gorgeous blueberry bed she has meticulously kept on top of. This can be really good when a volunteer starts to look after an area. It can help when the garden is so big and there’s so much to take notice of, we can miss a lot sadly. Claire created a baby kiwi nursery from Raph’s cuttings taken from the Kiwi vines that were originally in the old Naturewise Community Forest Garden in St.Dogmaels.

Roedd Jenny yn gofalu am y gwely llus hyfryd y mae hi wedi’i gadw’n ofalus iawn. Gall hyn fod yn dda iawn pan fydd gwirfoddolwr yn dechrau gofalu am ardal. Gall helpu pan fydd yr ardd mor fawr a chymaint i roi sylw iddo, gallwn golli llawer yn anffodus. Creodd Claire feithrinfa ciwi bach o doriadau Raphaelle a gymerwyd o’r gwinwydd Ciwi a oedd yn wreiddiol yn yr hen Gardd Goedwig Gymunedol Naturewise yn Landudoch.

Andy re-painted the compost loo door and more of the bridge. Dave painted the main doors and some benches with Osmo wood oil. There are many building, DIY and woodworking jobs to be done almost all the time. Any-one interested can join in with these kinds of jobs and learn something new. It’s good to look after our beautiful buildings.

Ail-baentiodd Andy ddrws y toiled compost a mwy o’r bont. Paentiodd Dave y prif ddrysau a rhai meinciau gydag olew pren Osmo. Mae yna lawer o swyddi adeiladu, DIY a gwaith coed i’w gwneud bron drwy’r amser. Gall unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb ymuno â’r mathau hyn o swyddi a dysgu rhywbeth newydd. Mae’n dda gofalu am ein hadeiladau hardd.

Nina and Jenny worked on the little pond area and made it look wonderful. That whole area now looks great, with so many beds full of plants and Colour. The circular pond is beautiful amongst the triangle bed and Daves’ dragon bed.

Gweithiodd Nina a Jenny ar ardal y pwll bach a’i gwneud hi’n edrych yn hyfryd. Mae’r ardal gyfan honno’n edrych yn wych nawr, gyda chymaint o welyau yn llawn planhigion a lliw. Mae’r pwll crwn yn brydferth ymhlith y gwely triongl a gwely draig Daves.

Dave tackles the poly-tunnel. We have planning permission for this and our kitchen and bike shelter. Now we need to find some money. Kate measures up to add to the paintings of the seasons on the inner walls of the Mandan area of the round house. Come and visit to see her new images and the other planting and work we’ve all been doing.

Mae Dave yn mynd i’r afael â’r polytunnel. Mae gennym ganiatâd cynllunio ar gyfer hyn a’n cegin a’n lloches feiciau. Nawr mae angen i ni ddod o hyd i arian. Mae Kate yn mesur i ychwanegu at y paentiadau o’r tymhorau ar waliau mewnol ardal Mandan y tŷ crwn. Dewch i ymweld i weld ei delweddau newydd a’r gwaith plannu a’r gwaith arall rydyn ni i gyd wedi bod yn ei wneud.

There are many volunteers who might not have been named in this newsletter. Many thanks to all our volunteers who have made the garden what it is and commit to the ongoing work required to develop and maintain it.

Mae yna lawer o wirfoddolwyr nad ydynt efallai wedi cael eu henwi yn y cylchlythyr hwn. Diolch yn fawr i’n holl wirfoddolwyr sydd wedi gwneud yr ardd yr hyn y mae ac sydd wedi ymrwymo i’r gwaith parhaus sydd ei angen i’w datblygu a’i chynnal.
