A seasonal celebration of All Hallows Eve / Samhain. During the light of the day join us for talks and workshops on medicinal plants & seasonal practices plus plenty of cake & hot drinks. After sunset there’ll be stories, entertainment, hot soup and a spooky story trail. Fancy dress optional. Free entry. Donations / Pay As You Feel for the food & drink

Halloween Calan Gaeaf
At Naturewise Community Forest Garden 31st October half term 1-9 pm
Day time activities
- 1 pm Welcoming speeches Tea, coffee, cake which will be available for the afternoon
- 1.30 pm Medicinal herbs, walk and talk (native and exotic) by Katerina
- 2 pm Salves & tinctures demonstration and talk by Claire
- 2.30 pm Dandelion coffee- how to make it by Raphaelle
- 3 pm Journey into the dark ceremony & meditation by Jenny
Kids fun crafts 1.30 – 3.30 pm
Dark time activities:
- 4.30 pm Spooky Story Trail meet interesting characters, for all ages (10-15 participants at a time)
- 5.30 delicious stew and bread is served
- 7 pm shadow puppet show the story of skeleton women by Claire & children – a fun story for all ages. Other story tellers weave their magic
- 8 pm fire show Freya & Friends
Wear warm clothes, bring your own drinking water. We will light a fire in the round house later on. You are welcome to bring a torch and we will have lighting to all our facilities and along the story trail.
Please bring a donation as it will help us pay for the evenings fun and food.

Volunteer on the Day
We need volunteer helpers to do many small jobs which could lighting the candles in jars or serving tea and cake, guiding people to park, washing up, welcoming table, helping clear up, serving food. Declare your interest in a job by contacting Claire or Raph (details below) or come and talk to us about what you would like to do – we will meet after lunch (1/ 1.15 pm) to plan our Halloween open day over the next 2 weeks. Your help could be just for an hour and we would benefit from that, thank you.
Meet us every Tuesday and every 3rd Saturday (of every month) at the forest garden. We are open from 10 am to 4 pm We make amazing things happen for nature and for community.
Claire is looking for 6-8 young people of about 6 years – 12 years old to be in the shadow puppet show. There will be one rehearsal . the show will be about 20 minutes long.
